For far too long Binghamton's political and economic landscape has been dominated by a select few. Like the one time Soviet dominance of Eastern Europe, their grip on power has been like an iron fist clamped around the community's neck. Time and time again they have offered voters nothing more than choosing between the lesser of two evils. Those times are at an end. I am running for mayor to get my hometown back on top, not to get a job, an enhanced state pension, or because suddenly I am concerned about city issues in an election year. For ten years I have spoken out, regardless of the political winds' direction, which is the kind of leadership quality our city urgently needs. My ultimate goal is to establish Binghamton's reputation as the safest and cleanest city in upstate New York. My approach is straightforward.
The problems our city faces have simple solutions; however, they are not easy. They require long term commitment to doing things that are not glamorous or exciting, but which are important. I am so committed. I will work with anyone that has good ideas, and against those that do not. Join me, and together we will break the status quo's stranglehold on our hometown, and make a new beginning for Binghamton. |
